15-year-old Jere pulled off a great javelin throw

Jere Murto pulled off a tough arc at Pihtipudaa.

Finland’s 15-year-old javelin thrower Jere Murto pulled off a tough stunt on the opening day of the Pihtipuda javelin carnival on Thursday.

He won the under-18 boys’ competition with a magnificent jump of 73.34 meters.

Murro’s result is the best result in Finland so far with the new 700-gram javelin model introduced at the turn of the year, according to a press release from the Finnish Sports Federation.

The Finn who has thrown the previously used model of the same weight the furthest is Topi Parviainen, who pulled his javelin to a distance of 84.52 meters three years ago at the European Under-18 Championships.

Murto posted a video of his impressive throw on his Instagram account.

– Finnish record for under-18s with a new model of 700 gram javelin, he wrote as an accompanying text.

The man was not completely satisfied with the day’s work, but he expressed faith in the future.

– Today was still a bit of a rushed throw, but we’re making progress, he declared.

Murto also made headlines last summer when he threw an unofficial SE result for 15-year-old boys. The throw reached 79.30 meters.

This was an unofficial Finnish record, as the Finnish Sports Association SUL does not confirm records in the 15-year-old age group.
