Swedish NHL player Jesper Fast, 33, is ending his career.
Fast announced the news on his club’s Carolina Hurricanes website. The forward’s decision was made after suffering a neck injury in the final game of the 2023–24 season, which resulted in him not being seen on the ice at all this season.
Before moving to Carolina, represented by Sebastian Aho, in the summer of 2020, Fast played for seven seasons in the New York Rangers organization.
The Swede played in 703 regular season games and 80 playoff games in the NHL. In the regular season, Fast scored 91+157=248 points.
