Lotta Harala opened her season – This is how it happened

The renowned FBK Games athletics event is underway in the Netherlands.

The renowned and high-quality FBK Games athletics event takes place in Hengelo, Netherlands.

Sprinter Lotta Harala, who opened her outdoor track season, was immediately faced with a top-level challenge in the 100-meter hurdles, facing, among others, top Polish athlete Pia Skrzyszowska, Dutch athlete Nadine Visser and South African athlete Marione Fourie.

Harala opened her season right away with a time under 13 seconds. The SE woman ran a balanced performance and stopped the clocks in 12.99, which was good enough for sixth place in the competition.

Harala’s own and also Finnish record is 12.65, run in July 2024.

Last week, a Finnish sensation was seen in the 100-meter hurdles, when Vilma Mäki stopped the clocks in the preliminary round of the Marski Games with a time of 12.88. She improved her record significantly and broke the magical 13-second mark for the first time in her career.

Mäki’s time is the top domestic result of the season. Mäki is the sixth Finnish to break 13 seconds.

Troublesome at Junnila

High jumper Ella Junnila surpassed 180 centimeters on her third jump. The bar, which was at a height of 185 centimeters, fell on the first attempt, but the Finnish jumper decided to move straight to 190 centimeters.

Junnila failed to exceed 190 in two jumps, so the result was 180. The Finn was eighth in the competition.

Junnila started the season weakly. Just over a week ago in Rehlingen, Germany, Junnila already exceeded 188 cents. The result was nine cents short of her record (197).
