Taloussanomat: Passport production to end in Finland
Thales DIS Finland, which manufactures Finnish passports in Vantaa, has completed its change negotiations. Taloussanomat reports that 160 jobs will be lost in Finland as a result.
Multinational Thales DIS Finland will stop manufacturing passports at the company’s Vantaa office. In the future, Finnish passports will be manufactured in Poland. In Finland, the passport holder’s personal information will only be added to them.
Taloussanomat reports on the end of passport production in Finland.
Thales DIS Finland launched change negotiations in Finland in March. The company tells Taloussanomat that as a result, 160 jobs will now disappear in Finland. About 130 employees will remain.
According to Taloussanomati, Thales justifies the production transfer with efficiency gains. The company aims to utilize its security product manufacturing concentration in Poland.
Finnish passports have previously been manufactured abroad, but in 2017 production returned to Finland.
