Usain Bolt: Into the Stockholm Night

The fastest man in the world visits the Diamond League in Stockholm.

The Stockholm Diamond League athletics competition will take place on Sunday.

The Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet reports that a train from Oslo to Stockholm on Friday transported just over 50 Diamond League competitors to Stockholm. The Oslo competition took place on Thursday.

The train also included sprinting superstar Usain Bolt, 38, who was in Oslo to watch the Diamond League.

According to Aftonbladet, the world’s fastest man was sitting at the very back of the train with two friends and his manager.

The newspaper asked the Jamaican what his plans were during his visit to Sweden, besides following the Diamond League.

– I’m going to see some nightlife, the star revealed.

According to the newspaper, Bolt was very receptive to a chat with the reporter.

– I haven’t been to a competition for a while. Now I had some time in Europe, so I decided to participate in these two events [Diamond League in Oslo and Stockholm] because they are so close to each other, he explains his reason for the trip.

Praise to Sweden

The world star, who ended his running career in 2017, plans to spend his time in Stockholm as a tourist.

– When I was competing, I never had the chance to see the city. So I’m going to try to see Stockholm, watch the athletics and enjoy everything.

Bolt has, according to his own words, been to Stockholm three times before. The Swedish people are getting compliments from the star.

– Swedish people are definitely in the top five. Every time I’ve been to Stockholm, every person I’ve met in Sweden has been very nice.

Bolt holds the world records for the 100 and 200 meters. He clocked a time of 9.58 for the 100 and 19.19 for the 200. He ran both records at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin.
