A huge blow in the Finnish block! The situation really changed

Denmark secured a place in the next round.

The situation in Group D of the European Under-21 Championship is really exciting. Before the last match, Finland is fourth, or last, in its group.

On Sunday evening, there was a real shock when the Netherlands, who were expected to be the tournament’s favorite, lost 1–2 to Denmark. Denmark secured the group victory and a place in the next round.

Finland, on the other hand, suffered a 0–2 defeat to Ukraine.

You could say that Denmark’s one-goal win was the worst possible result for Finland in terms of their hopes of advancing. In the second half of the match, both sides even had chances to score more goals.

The Little Owls still have a chance to advance to the top two and the playoffs. However, Finland must beat Denmark on Wednesday.

At the same time, Finns hope that the Netherlands will overthrow Ukraine, but by a smaller margin.

Finland can only reach a tie with the Netherlands. Then the position would be decided by goal difference. Finland’s goal difference is 2–4, while the Netherlands’ is 3–4. Finland will therefore have to score more goals than the Netherlands on Wednesday if both win.

If Ukraine wins or draws with the Netherlands, they will advance.
