Finland’s strongest man roared to victory at the World Weightlifting Championships – This woman was on his back
The Eukonkanton World Championships are underway in Sonkajärvi.
Finland’s strongest man and social media influencer Severi Allonen and social media star Karla Könönen won the sprint race at the European Weightlifting World Championships on Friday evening.
In the competition held in Sonkajärvi, Allonen and Könönen defeated Ilpo Haalisto and Jenni Piippo, who came in second.
Third place in the sprint race went to Norwegians Gytis Zaliskevicius and Giedre Navigaite.
– Good feelings about the competition, and all the runs went as planned, Allonen commented after the sprint.
Allonen, who was chosen as Finland’s strongest man last year, participated in the eukonkanto for the first time, and will continue competing on Saturday in the team competition and in the main series.
Könönen publishes sports-related videos on social media and admits to being a big fan of Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, among others.
The 192-centimeter tall Allonen has previously posted footage of his training for the World Cup in Eukonkanton. He also previously revealed on Instagram that his wife Maija did not agree to be carried. This is why Könönen was found on his back.
The team competition of the Eukonkanton World Championships will take place on Saturday at 1 pm and the main competition at 3 pm.
