A huge turnaround! Seagulls received a league license

There have been enough twists and turns around the basketball club Seagulls in recent days.

The Finnish Basketball Association announces a big surprise.

The Helsinki Seagulls, which are looking for a new owner, will continue in the Basketball League next season.

The Finnish Basketball Association has approved a new league license for the Seagulls at its meeting on Thursday, even though just a few days ago MTV reported that the club was leaving the league.

Purchase failed

According to the organization’s own press release, the reigning men’s Finnish Championship gold club is up for sale, as owners Janne and Sinikka Kulvik are giving up ownership.

The Lithuanian Basketball Holding Company was supposed to buy ten percent of the Helsinki club through a directed share issue, but the deal fell through, even though both BHC and Seagulls assured Iltalehti in April that the sale would take place.

– All 12 clubs eligible for the basketball league applied for a place in the league. The league licensing unit rejected BC Nokia ry’s league license application, the press release says.

Addition

BC Nokia previously announced that it would leave the Basketball League due to financial difficulties.

The basketball league was supplemented by Lapua Kobra-Basket, which was in first reserve place in the rankings.

Seagulls can be found on the list of licensed teams.
