Helsinki Airport’s “shadow parking lot” is being filed for bankruptcy

Parking company Go Parking Oy has been filed for bankruptcy. The bankruptcy application was filed in the Itä-Uusimaa District Court on Thursday.

Last fall, Helsinki newspaper Helsingin Sanomat reported on the Go Parking parking lot, which is located a few kilometers from the airport. At the time, the parking lot had received a significant amount of negative customer feedback.
In addition to Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, Go Parking also has airport parking in Copenhagen, Paris, Stockholm and Tallinn, according to its website.
Go Parking Oy has not submitted its financial statements to the Trade Register for many years. According to Asiakastieto, the company has been on a protest list listing unpaid debts several times in the past year and has received several judgments in court due to unpaid debts.
Employment pension insurance company Varma filed for bankruptcy last fall, but at the time, the company said it was due to “human error.” The application was later withdrawn.
HS tried to reach the company on Thursday to comment on the new bankruptcy filing, but the company had not commented on the matter to HS by the time the story was published.
