Hundreds of passengers’ bags were left at Helsinki Airport on Sunday

The triggering of the automatic extinguishing system stopped baggage handling at Helsinki Airport on Sunday during the busiest travel time.

The triggering of the automatic extinguishing system caused a disruption in the baggage system at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport on Sunday.

Hundreds or even thousands of passengers’ bags were left at the airport during the busiest travel time in the afternoon between 3 and 5 p.m.

According to Finavia’s communications, the disruption affected all passengers with checked baggage.

The luggage of hundreds, if not thousands, of passengers was left behind at Helsinki Airport on Sunday when the airport’s baggage system malfunctioned.

Check-in was delayed and some checked baggage was left behind on flights.

Finavia said the disruption affected all passengers with checked baggage. The disruption began at around 3pm and lasted a couple of hours.

As of around 6pm on Sunday, Pia Fast Finavia’s communications department was unable to estimate how many passengers were affected by the disruption.

However, according to Fast, we are talking about at least hundreds of passengers.

“The holiday season has begun and afternoon is usually the busiest time at the airport.”

The cause of the disruption was a false fire alarm that triggered the automatic extinguishing system. Part of the 15-kilometer-long baggage system suffered from water, Fast says.

According to Finavia, a backup system was immediately put into operation at the airport, which allowed some of the luggage to be transported on flights.

Fast cannot say how long it will take for passengers to receive their luggage.

Airlines deliver lost baggage to their customers after it has been transferred to the baggage system and security checked.

“Airlines will reroute luggage according to their own capabilities. You can inquire about luggage with your own airline.”
