Kauhava speeding accident caught on video
The Kauhava accident is being investigated.
An accident occurred during the Kauhava acceleration on Sunday afternoon, in which a competitor lost his life.
The accident occurred in the motorcycle class, where two competitors were facing each other. After a normal start, one competitor skidded onto the side of the adjacent track at the end of the straight. The motorcycle continued on its journey for a while on the grass field, until the rider was thrown into the air, apparently as a result of the collision.
No visitors were in danger, says Anssi Pinola, CEO of FHRA Marketing Oy.
The police have launched an investigation into the cause of death.
– After that, we will conduct a more detailed accident investigation together with the Finnish Motor Association, for which a committee will be established to investigate what happened in more detail, Pinola states.
The runs were suspended immediately after the accident.
The three-day Finnish Championship and PM competition featured the Top Fuel, Pro Stock, Super Twin and Super Street Bike motorcycle groups.
