Onnibus: Expansion
Onnibus announces that it is expanding its routes abroad.
Onnibus says that in the future, you can travel from Finland to the Baltics and even Poland with a single ticket.
According to the press release, Tallink, Lux Express and Onnibus have collaborated to build travel chains consisting of bus and ferry trips to Riga, Kaunas, Panevezys and Warsaw.
According to the press release, the journeys will take place via Kamppi Long-distance Transport Terminal to West Terminal 2, from where a Tallink ferry will take passengers to Tallinn. From Tallinn, the journey will continue on a Lux Express bus to the selected destination.
“You can travel from Kuopio to Riga and buy tickets for your trip in one place,” says the company’s CEO Joona Hurmerinta in a press release.
A ticket for an adult from Helsinki to Warsaw costs a little over one hundred euros in the Onnibus online store, depending on the time of day. The travel time on the route is approximately 16 hours.
“Some choose the bus for the scenery and relaxation, some for the affordable price,” Hurmerinta says in the press release.
Travel can be booked with a single ticket from the Onnibus online store or app no later than 72 hours before departure.
Onnibus has announced several other innovations during the spring and early summer.
In early June, the company announced that it would introduce premium buses to certain routes. Premium service will begin on Thursday of this week.
Onnibus also operates port bus connections from Kamppi Long-distance Transport Terminal to both the West Terminal and Katajanokka.
Flixbus also transports passengers from Finland to Poland. Flixbus opened the Vaasa-Warsaw route in 2023. Since then, more routes have been opened.
