SaiPa reported an incomprehensible reading

SaiPa has already sold over 2,000 season tickets by Midsummer.

SaiPa played a fabulous season and made it all the way to the Finnish Championship finals in May. They lost to KalPa there, but the team from Lappeenranta was still the biggest domestic phenomenon of the past hockey season.

The whole of South Karelia was living the spring with a fierce passion for their favorite team. Hockey legend Raimo Helminen set SaiPa in a fiercely playful mood.

The SaiPa craze is still going on in South Karelia. Season tickets are selling like hot cakes.

A Midsummer miracle has happened at the club’s ticket office.

– By Midsummer, we have sold over 2,000 season tickets. Usually, that number has been a little over a thousand at this point in the summer. And the sales peak has usually come in early autumn, just before the start of the season, says Community Manager Jonna Vuorinne.

The tickets that have sold so far have been sold using the “old-fashioned” method.

– Season tickets have been sold in the hall from our shop. We are changing the ticket sales system, which will be implemented soon. Of course, this includes customers who have renewed their season tickets, but also hundreds of new customers who have purchased a card, Vuorinne says.

Has the demand surprised you?

– We expected there to be enough demand, but the numbers may surprise you. This is a great thing.

Vuorinne does not want to set a sales target for season tickets. Last season, SaiPa sold a total of less than 2,000 season tickets.

Result in the fall

The business world also wants to be part of SaiPa’s journey.

– There is a positive vibe there too. We have brought new companies on board and many old partners want to continue. We are very grateful to those companies that have been with us for a long time, even in difficult times, Vuorinne says.

The financial year result of the parent company Liiga-SaiPa Oy is expected to be in the hundreds of thousands of euros in the positive.

– It will probably be completed in early autumn, I will not take a position on this matter now. Our CEO, Jani Valkeapää, is responsible for the finances.

I’m sure people in Lappeenranta will be warming up for the Midsummer sauna with a positive attitude?

– Absolutely the most positive, Vuorinne laughs.
