Ukrainians strike: Alexander Ovechkin information leak?

According to Ukrainians, Russia’s celebrated hockey hero is guilty of justifying a war of aggression. The website claims to know details, including the hockey player’s passport.

The Myrotvorets organization, which is close to the Ukrainian intelligence service, has added information about NHL hockey player Aleksandr Ovechkin to its website.

The Myrotvorets website has been listing information about Ukraine’s “enemies” for years.

As for Ovechkin, the website says, among other things, that the hockey player is guilty of war propaganda and public support for Russian aggression and the murder of Ukrainian citizens.

According to the website, Ovechkin has participated in international competitions in an attempt to whitewash Russia’s reputation, spread disinformation, and justify aggression against Ukraine in the eyes of a foreign audience.

– He is a well-known supporter and close friend of Vladimir Putin. He receives personal gifts from the president. Using his popularity, he has a significant impact on strengthening Putin’s dictatorial position and spreading Kremlin propaganda. He emphasizes that he is from Russia and that Putin is his president. In his Instagram profile picture, he is with Putin. He was the founder and finances the activities of the “Putin Team”, the website says.

Myrotvorets has also listed companies and brands that are connected to Ovechkin. The site mentions Gatorade, Bauer, Nike and Reebok, among others.

Ovechkin’s phone number and passport information are also listed, but there is no certainty about the accuracy of the information.

According to the Russian state news agency Tass, the Myrotvorets website also includes, for example, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

According to the Vedomosti newspaper, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on Ovechkin’s listing, saying that “at the moment it is difficult to find people who are not on the list.”

– So what is there to discuss? Peskov said.

The Myrotvorets website was founded in 2014. Over the years, it has also been criticized, at least for its listing of journalists.

Ovechkin was a celebrated hero this past NHL season, becoming the league’s all-time leading scorer.
