Vantaa decided to lease a plot of land for the Kivistö event arena
The arena project passed a milestone in Vantaa. The city leases land in Kivistö to the hall company.
Vantaa has received additional clarifications regarding the financing of Kivistön Arena 3.3, and the project is progressing.
At its extraordinary meeting on Thursday, the Vantaa City Board decided that the city will sign a land lease agreement with the hall company. The preliminary agreement for the property transaction can now also be signed.
The city had already made a conditional decision on both of these agreements last year. Vantaa first wanted guarantees that the hall company was solvent and had adequate financing.
The solvency of the international financier has been assessed by an impartial business finance expert.
HS said on Tuesday that the city government had not yet received sufficient information about the financier at the meeting scheduled for Midsummer week. Therefore, an extraordinary meeting was arranged as quickly as possible before the start of the holiday season.
In addition to the event arena, the approximately 200 million euro project includes a parking garage and a hotel.
Pepe Perkiö, the other main owner of Arena 3.3, said in an interview with HS that the plans for the event arena are to be announced in more detail in August.
